01 · WHO WE ARE

The Weekend Project is an initiative of Stories by Nomads, headquartered at 03-115, 3rd Floor, WeWork Blue One Square, Phase IV, Udyog Vihar, Sector 18, Gurugram, Haryana 122015, India. This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through theweekendproject.in (the Site).

For any question about this policy or your data, write to us at hello@theweekendproject.in. Until a dedicated Grievance Officer is appointed and named here, this address is the designated contact point for all data protection requests under applicable Indian law.

 

02 · WHAT WE COLLECT

We collect information in two ways: what you give us directly, and what the Site collects automatically to function.

Information you provide

 

Through the Apply form:

• Full name, phone number, and email address

• Project title, film language, logline, synopsis, and treatment note

• Any file you upload (script, treatment, or supporting document)

• Information about script registration status and rights ownership

• A link to previous work, if you provide one

 

Through the Contact form:

• First name, last name, phone number, and email address

• The content of your message to us

 

Information collected automatically

The Site is built and hosted on Wix. Wix places essential cookies needed to operate the Site (for example, to load pages correctly and support the Apply and Contact forms). We do not currently run additional analytics or advertising tools such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel. If that changes, we will update this policy to name the tool and describe what it collects before it goes live.

We do not collect payment or financial information through this Site. The Weekend Project does not charge applicants, and no checkout or payment flow exists on theweekendproject.in.

 

03 · WHY WE COLLECT IT

We use the information above to:

• Review and evaluate fellowship applications submitted through the Apply form

• Communicate with applicants about their submission, including selection decisions

• Respond to messages sent through the Contact form

• Coordinate production logistics with selected fellows

• Maintain records of past applicants and fellows for reference and reporting

• Meet legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations where applicable

 

04 · HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

We keep applicant and contact information for as long as reasonably necessary to consider your application, deliver the fellowship if you are selected, and maintain records of past cycles. If you would like your information deleted sooner, write to hello@theweekendproject.in and we will act on that request, subject to any legal obligation that requires us to retain specific records.

 

05 · WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

We do not sell personal data. Information may be shared with service providers who help us operate the Site and evaluate applications, such as Wix (hosting and form infrastructure) and Google Workspace (email). These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

If you are selected as a fellow, information relevant to production, such as your name, contact details, and project details, may be shared internally within Stories by Nomads and with partners directly involved in producing your film. We will not publish your personal contact details without your consent.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Stories by Nomads, our applicants, or the public.

 

06 · YOUR RIGHTS

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and subject to its conditions, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you

• Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data

• Withdraw consent you previously gave, where processing is based on consent

• Request erasure of your data, subject to our legitimate retention needs

• Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity

• Register a complaint with us, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if unresolved

07 · CHILDREN'S DATA

The Weekend Project is intended for applicants aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, contact hello@theweekendproject.in.

 

08 · SECURITY

We rely on Wix's platform-level security safeguards to protect information submitted through the Site, and we limit internal access to applicant data to those directly involved in reviewing applications and producing selected films. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

 

09 · CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy as the Site and our practices evolve. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes, such as adding a new analytics tool, will be reflected here before they take effect.
